For Women In Recovery From An Eating Disorder

Your life is valuable. It does not have to be controlled by an Eating Disorder.

Eating disorders disconnect you from yourself and others.

They demand everything from you including your mind, body, and soul.

A recovery mentor can help you reconnect with a sense of strength, compassion and purpose.

You don’t have to do this alone.

A Recovery Mentor is someone who successfully recovered from an eating disorder and wants to help others on their recovery journey. Mentorship is deeply rooted in personal experience and mutual understanding.

A Recovery Mentor provides ongoing support and guidance to motivated individuals who suffer from an eating disorder and are medically stable, in therapy, and desire additional connection and education.

An Eating Disorder Recovery Mentor can help!

I am Julie Wickham

Certified Mentor for the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD)

Recovery has been quite the journey for me, for which I am extremely grateful for every day! These last few years I have spent time educating myself and putting in the hard work that it takes to be fully recovered.

I have completed several Recovery Warrior Programs such as Recovery 101, Wholehearted Recovery, Three Components of Self Compassion, Meditation & Yoga Flows, Map My Year, and The Holiday Coping Kit, and I am an alumna to the very first Courage Club Program in 2020.

In March 2024, I became one of the very first trained facilitators for the Women’s Body Initiative Program. The Body Initiative Program is a cognitive dissonance-based program for adult women. The goal is to create cognitive dissonance by having participants verbalize statements and engage in behaviors that reject the thin-young-ideal standard of female beauty that contributes to body dissatisfaction throughout the female lifespan.

I am trained in the Youth Yoga Project to facilitate Mindfulness.

I have worked full-time as a Licensed Social Worker in a school setting for the past 35 years. I currently work part time for the ECOESC Student & Supports, where I supervise and mentor School Social Workers and Prevention Staff.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Bethany College, Bethany, West Virginia.

I live in Wheeling, West Virginia with my husband Rob, and we are proud parents of two grown daughters. I enjoy e-biking, flatwater kayaking, reading, trying new foods, campfires on a cool night, outdoor grilling, and watching soccer. I practice yoga, mindfulness, journaling, assertiveness, and gratitude.

Let me help you reclaim your life and succeed on your journey to healing.
